Last week, six largest US iGaming operators gathered together to establish first ever responsible gambling standards. These operators are Bally’s, DraftKings, FanDuel, Entain, MGM Resorts International and BetMGM.
Ontario’s legal sports-betting market continues to grow, with Pinnacle becoming the latest brand to join it. According to multiple media reports, last week the company managed to receive the licence by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. AGCO will reportedly make an official statement in the coming days.
Pinnacle’s CEO Paris Smith said that the company is really excited to join the Ontario market. He believes that local bettors deserve to be provided with the best betting opportunities. The Pinnacle.ca site is expected to be covering all major North American and global sports events.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) issued a resolution on August 25, in which it announced a monetary penalty for Unibet betting operator for violations of the advertising rules. The company will now be obliged to pay $48,000.
Despite that, Unibet still have an opportunity to appeal the charge. In case this happens, Ontario’s Licence Appeal Tribunal (independent of the AGCO) will be handling the lawsuit.
Ontario’s sports-betting industry became fully legit on April 4, when the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario launched the process of licensing the online bookmakers. Canada Sports Betting conducted a survey about the residents’ interest in online-betting after its full legalization.
