Sportsbook Comparison: Caesars vs. FanDuel

Caesars Vs FanDuel Logo

The aim of this article is to present a comprehensive analysis between Caesars and FanDuel, two industry-leading sportsbook options in both the United States and Canada. To do so, we’ll hone in on their bonuses, payment options, user feedback, mobile app performance, available leagues, customer support, odds comparisons, and responsible gambling tools.

Caesars Sportsbook

Caesars Sportsbook, a branch of Caesars Entertainment, began its strategic journey into the competitive legalized sportsbook landscape in September of 2018 by launching their first online and retail sports betting services from Harrah's Resort Atlantic City in New Jersey. According to a recent report from the Sporting News, Caesars Sportsbook, despite being publicly traded on the NASDAQ (CZR), currently holds approximately 7% of the market share in the highly competitive sports betting industry. They continue to capitalize on their extensive network of casinos and brand recognition to establish and maintain their presence across North America.

FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel made its debut as a legal sportsbook in the United States at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey back in September 2018. It is owned by Flutter Entertainment, Fox Corporation, and Boyd Gaming with its shares publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker FLUT. As of January 2024, FanDuel holds a significant 43% market share in terms of gross revenue and boasts an impressive user base of over 15 million active customers in North America.

Caesars Betting Apps

Caesars has received mixed reviews in terms of the functionality and user experience of its iOS and Android apps. Of the 1,922 user reviews analyzed, 33% of reviews expressed negative experiences with 40% mixed and 27% positive.

  • Negatives stem from Android app functionality which include poor geolocation lending to numerous app crashes, or the app lagging making for an enjoyable overall experience.
  • One user seemingly gave up stating, “So glitchy, every weekend. You’ll waste so much time trying to place a bet. They just can’t keep it fixed.”

FanDuel Betting Apps

  • This user summed up most of those issues by stating, “ This app needs to be fixed. It keeps glitching in the middle of bets. It’s been doing this for me for about 3 months now in the middle of your games glitching talking about needing to verify your location. Then you lose all your money.”

Leagues Comparison

Caesars and FanDuel each offer a wide range of leagues that are on par with one another. The former offers nearly 170 different leagues, while the latter comes in around 160. This includes all the majors like the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL as well as NCAAF and NCAAB. Each also makes it a point to cater to sports bettors interested in international markets, and that’s where Cesars holds a slight edge with more leagues available in soccer, basketball, and ice hockey.

The league types offered should be a top priority when signing up at a new sportsbook if indeed your interest revolves around niche sports that don’t fall in line with the mainstream league options.

There are complaints about the app's promotional offers not being honored, and users feel that the support team was unhelpful in resolving these matters, further contributing to their dissatisfaction.

Positive Experiences:

However, a few users have had positive experiences with the support team, praising their responsiveness and effectiveness in resolving issues. These users appreciated the user-friendly platform and the range of betting options available.

Conclusion:

In summary, while there are some positive comments, the majority of users seem to be dissatisfied with the support provided by the sports betting app. The main areas for improvement appear to be communication, problem resolution, and the handling of account and transaction issues.

App is horribly slow. Deposit issues unsolved by customer service. Didn't seem to care multiple times and presented no viable solutions. No contact email available to escalate the issue. Too many other options to try to fight it to get resolved....

I rate this app 1 Star. Signed up for an account. put in all my info and created a password. In order to deposit money they asked me to upload a picture of my State ID and a picture of myself. I did both and it said the documents were being reviewed. I tried to log in again and hour later and it said my account had been suspended lol. I had yet to deposit money or even make a wager! I contacted customer support to find out what happened and got no response. I'll take my action somewhere else.

FanDuel Customer Support Review

After analyzing the reviews, it is clear that the majority of users have had a negative experience with FanDuel's customer support.

Negative Aspects:

  • Account Suspension: Many users reported that their accounts were suspended without clear reasons, often after winning bets or making deposits. This has led to frustration and loss of funds, with some users even accusing the app of theft.
  • Unhelpful Customer Service: Customer service has been described as unhelpful and unresponsive. Users reported receiving vague or irrelevant responses, and some even mentioned that their chats were closed abruptly. The lack of live support and the inability to speak to a human representative were also highlighted as major issues.
  • Verification Problems: Users reported being unable to pass the authentication process due to irrelevant questions or system errors, preventing them from placing bets and accessing their accounts.
  • Unfulfilled Promises: A few users mentioned not receiving promised bonuses, adding to their dissatisfaction.

Positive Aspects:

  • Occasional Free Bets: A single positive comment mentioned the app giving out free bets occasionally, but the user still noted that customer service could be improved.

Conclusion: The FanDuel sports betting app's support service is perceived as poor and untrustworthy by the majority of users. Improvements in customer service responsiveness, account management, and the verification process are needed to enhance user satisfaction. Addressing these issues will be crucial for building trust and providing a better overall user experience.

Worse customer service ever. If a player is illegally hit & injured they don't care they will take your money. ESPN BETS offer injury insurance that's a good option.

Clemson vs. Arizona Odds Analysis

  • FanDuel is offering Arizona -6.5 (-118) while Caesars is a full point higher at -7.5 (-110). If you believe the Wildcats run away with the margin win regardless, you could save some juice by betting the game at Caesars.
  • If you value that full point and don’t mind laying the extra vig, then the reduced betting line at FanDuel would be more to your liking.

Angels vs. Orioles Odds Analysis

  • FanDuel and Caesars present differing options for bettors of this game. Bettors who want to support the home team Orioles may find it advantageous to choose FanDuel, as their odds are 18 cents lower than Caesars. This means that FanDuel considers Baltimore's chances of winning to be 63.2%, slightly lower than Caesars' estimation of 65.5%. Consequently, betting on the Orioles at FanDuel carries slightly less risk.
  • When it comes to the Angels, Caesars is the preferred platform for placing bets as it offers 14 additional cents on the moneyline. This means that the implied probability of the LA team winning is 38.8 percent with Caesars, while FanDuel's probability stands at nearly 41.0 percent. In terms of betting value, Caesars provides better odds and a higher return if Los Angeles manages to pull off an upset.

Mike made the decision to dive headfirst into the booming world of sports betting fresh out of college. Back in the day, when 1-800 pick lines and sports pagers were all the rage, he couldn't resist the allure, having grown up idolizing sports legends like Sweetness, MJ, and Slammin Sammy. Mike dedicated his early years to the industry, tirelessly analyzing games, writing articles with free picks, and selling his expertise on reputable handicapping sites. Unlike many others, Mike was known for his integrity and only released one Game of the Year per sport, per season. His hard work and unwavering commitment paid off, earning him a devoted following and propelling his career to new heights. Then came the explosion of Daily Fantasy Sports. Believe it or not, companies like DraftKings and FanDuel used to pay Mike's company to increase their brand exposure. Now, those same industry giants don't even bother responding to his emails. While Mike appreciates the convenience of being able to place legal bets in his own backyard, he can't help but feel disheartened by what has become of the industry. People are being led astray, falsely believing that a mere $5 wager on a 20-team same-game-parlay will be their ticket to financial security. If there’s one thing Mike learned from making book back in the day, it’s that parlays are a bookie’s best friend. A bankroll is the only leg you have to stand on in the battle with the books, and Mike’s here to offer up advice on how to protect it.
