Bet99 Officially Launches In Ontario After Acquiring The AGCO License

On Monday, October 31, Bet99 officially began its legal operation in Ontario. The company’s website is now available under Bet99.ca.

Tough Start

The transition process did not go smoothly, since the bet99.ca website was down for several hours on Monday, while the Ontario residents were unavailable to place any bets on bet99.com. Nevertheless, the problem was solved during the day, and now the operator is operating at full capacity.

The new .ca website provides customers with both sports betting and online casino gambling.

The Issue Background

The online betting market has become fully legit in Ontario on April 4, 2022. Since then, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario began its operations in the region. At the moment, over 20 companies and 40 websites have started to accept bets online, with even more about to launch in the near future. This is Canada’s first of its kind private gambling market.

The Bet99.com site that Canadians were previously using is tied to a gaming license issued by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, which is located in the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake just south of Montreal. It was not authorized or regulated by any province. Since online sports betting began legal in Ontario last spring, it became urgent for the company to acquire the local license to continue its operations.

Deadline For The Bookies

Earlier it became known that the AGCO has set October 31, 2022 as a deadline date for bookies with a local license to officially launch in the region. The regulator warned that bookmakers who fail to launch on time may face penalties.

What Is Bet99?

Bet99 is a canadian-focused online sportsbook accepting bets via website and mobile application. BQC Consulting founded and launched the bookmaker in 2020. From the first day of its existence, the company has been focused on Canadian players, considering Canada its main market.
